My career in teaching began in 1990 after I graduated from Appalachian State University with my degree in education. I taught 12 years in elementary school where I added an AIG certification to my license. My main focus during my 12 years in middle school has been math which is why I added math for grades 6-9 onto my license. I love teaching and I love learning new things. Helping students become the best they can be is a gift education gives back to me. Quality time with my family is my greatest treasure. A fun activity we do as a family is to visit children and adults with our therapy pup. Also, we all have a passion for traveling and for immersing ourselves in other cultures. We've done this through family trips and mission trips. Spending time learning how the rest of our world lives and loves has made us closer as a family. This is my first year at River Oaks and I'm incredibly excited for this 2017 - 2018 school year! |
